Why Last-Minute Rarely Works

Calling around during the season's first big dump is the worst time to shop. Everyone is buried, the reliable companies are already at capacity, and you're left choosing between waiting days or hiring whoever happens to answer. For anyone who genuinely needs a clear driveway — people who commute early, run a business, or care for an elderly parent — that gamble isn't worth it.
